Pionus parrot colors display splendidly in the sunlight.

Here's my white capped pionus parrot Sachi looking lovely and vibrant in the morning sunlight. I still feel pretty stunned that pionus parrots aren't more popular. Must be because pionus parrots don't have that instant flash appeal that many people are drawn to. She turns 5 years old on May 28/2012.

  1. I know what you mean! My bronze-wing is such a sweet bird, such a lovely character, and so gorgeous under the light. Pionus really are great companion parrots. Very under-rated!

I agree too. Pionus are wonderful. I love the rosy color near their vents too.

  3. I have an 8 year-old white capped Pionus. Their colors are so much more vibrant in natural light. And she loves her time out in the aviary!

  4. I completely agree David! Photos do not do their colors justice! How lucky for your pionus parrot to have an outdoor aviary. One day for us. :)
